NASCAR Actually Got the Robby Gordon Appeal Right (well, almost)

On Wednesday, March 5, NASCAR reviewed Robby Gordon's appeal and rescinded the 100 points for driver and owner and the crew chief suspension. Curiously, they increased the crew chief's fine from $100,000 to $150,000... All in all this was a very successful appeal for the Robby Gordon team. Just strange that the fine was increased. It should have been reduced if not omitted. Nevertheless, it's amazing to find that NASCAR actually basically did the right thing. After all, the part number on the 'wrong part' and the 'right part' were the same. Even NASCAR couldn't find a way to make an honest mistake cheating.

Wonder how long this new, improved NASCAR will last?
